Scientist, Engineer, Novelist

ABOUT

Good day, good people.

I am Sam E. AtSell, an experienced satellite imagery analyst, and I am about to start walking a new path – that of becoming a fictional story author. This site is dedicated to that journey. My background involves satellite image interpretation for national security purposes and there are some great stories I want to tell. <more>

FICTION

Both my short story and novella introduce some of the characters that you’ll love, or hate, or love to hate, or maybe, hate to love. My novels will cross multiple genres, but they are primarily thrillers that explore the intelligence/industrial complex that lead to our absolute loss of privacy. If you have any social media accounts, and I mean ANY, artificial intelligence can spot you from satellites hundreds of miles away. I offer you stories, based in fact, that will make you wonder “what is happening”. <more>

During WWII, engineer Stuart Oldman races to modify an aerial camera after Nazi rockets strike London. With three weeks to succeed and his grandson’s life at stake, Oldman must determine if his brilliant engineer Evelyn Harris is an ally or Nazi spy, while confronting his past and pushing technology’s limits to save lives.

Codeword: Buffalo

Novella ($0.99) (coming soon): This story explores both code talking and the Triple Nickels Infantry Parachute Battalion near the end of World War II, highlighting the search for German scientists and engineers that could help or destroy the Allies.

Unwarranted Influence

Novel (coming soon): Set in the stress of the late 1950’s cold war, this story considers how the U.S. reacted when the Soviet Union launched earth’s first orbiting satellite, Sputnik. This was the beginning of Space Race.

I am regularly amazed by people I know.
